Specific Toxicity Assays: Ecotox Assays
Alga Growth Inhibition Test:
We implement a miniaturized version of alga growth-inhibition test, based on OCSPP 850.4500/OECD TG201, using 96-well plates. This test enables higher numbers of samples and dilution steps and reduces human labor and incubation room. It is sensitive and reproducible due to biomass fluorometric measures and can be easily adapted to test other algae species.
This is your assay if you are looking for increased simplicity and cost-effectiveness for high-throughput screening of aquatic toxicity of compounds during early phases of their development.
Daphnia Immobilization Test:
The small Cladocera Daphnia magna is extensively used in several bioassays for toxicity screening during the environmental risk assessment of new chemicals.
Biobide offers the acute toxicity assay on Daphnia defined by the OECD Test Guide 202, EC N440/2208 regulation, and EPA Test Guideline OPPTS 850.1010. The objective of this assay is to test the acute toxicity effects of chemicals towards daphnids, commonly performed to comply with regulatory requirements or support environmentally acceptable product label claims.
